Inglese - Android O.S.
A mobile
operating system (or mobile OS) is an operating system for smartphones,
tablets, or other mobile devices. The so-called mobile operating systems have
majority use as of 2017 (measured by web use); with even only the smartphones
running them (excluding tablets) more used than any other kind of device.
Android is a newly
created, Linux-based Operating System. It has been create by Android Inc. which
Google. Android is an open source which means that it allows the software to be
modified, without having to pay; as a result of this, developers, device
manufacturers and wireless carriers can develop and distribute their own
modified versions of the operating system.
A lot of these developers
write applications (“apps” that are available for Android and downloaded from
Google Play) that make wider the functionality of devices because they write in
a version of the Java programming language. A very recent survey found that
Android is a very popular used by mobile developers. Android was first designed
for touchscreen devices, specially smartphones and tablets, but then a lot of
applications have been used on televisions, games consoles, digital cameras
etc., because its open nature encourages to add new features in order to
satisfy modern human being’s needs.
In 2010, Google launched its
Nexus series which included smartphones and tablets running the Android O.S.
The series has been updated over and over as Google provides a lot of updates
which are received over the air by most devices every six to nine months.
Android’s share of the global smartphone market, led by Samsung products in
March 2013 was about 64%. In July 2013 there were 11,868 different Android
devices, of screen sizes and eight O.S. versions in use at the same time: a
real smartphone war.
